What is this?
With Edit event you change properties of an existing event afterwards. Typical use cases: rehearsal room changed, performance rescheduled, new sheet music added or description refined.
How to edit an event
- Open the event via the Events area.
- Click "Edit" in the top right (on the web) or tap the pencil icon (in the app).
- Change the desired fields: title, date, start, end, venue, description, participants, voices, linked sheet music.
- Save the change. Members are automatically notified for changes to date, time or venue.
What you can change
- Master data: title, description, date, time, venue
- Participants: add or remove individual members
- Voice selection: make the event visible only to certain voices
- Sheet music: add or remove linked pieces
- Tasks: maintain to-dos for the event
- Visibility: public (on the choir website) or internal
- Repeat: add a series or adjust an existing one
For recurring events
If the event is part of a series, Chorilo asks on save:
- Change only this event — the series remains untouched
- Change this and all following events — the new configuration applies from today on
- Change the entire series — all events, including past ones, are adjusted (caution!)
Permission
You need Create & edit events to edit events. By default, choir directors and members with the corresponding permission group have this. Members without it can only view events.
Tips
- For major changes, add a comment so members understand the background — for example "rehearsal room changed due to renovation".
- Check before saving that the date is right — typos in the date are the most common cause of confused members.
- For reschedules, additionally send a notification in the Notifications area if the change is short-notice.
Frequently asked questions
Are members informed about changes?▾
Yes. For changes to date, time or venue, all invited members automatically receive a push notification and an email. For smaller changes (for example description), no notification.
Are RSVPs preserved?▾
Yes. Existing RSVPs are preserved even if you change date or venue. If you reassemble the ensemble (for example different voices), RSVPs of members no longer invited are deleted.
Can I edit just one event of a series?▾
Yes. When editing, Chorilo asks whether the change affects only this event or the whole series. So you can, for example, move a single rehearsal without affecting the weekly series.
