What parents see

What is this?

As a linked parent you see in every shared choir everything your child sees. Without this rule you could not confirm the soprano sectional rehearsal for Lina, because as a parent without a voice section you would not be shown it at all.

Events and notifications

Events and notifications can be restricted to a voice section, role or permission group. You see them if they are visible to you yourself or to at least one of your children in the same choir.

If you see something only because of a child, it carries the note "visible because of Lina". There you can respond or vote for Lina, but not for Jonas if Jonas does not see the event.

This also includes:

• Push notifications for these events and notifications
• Reminders about open responses, including your children's
• Comments under these events, which you write under your own name

What stays unchanged

For everything else, only your own permissions apply:

• Chats: you only see chats you are in yourself.
• Files, sheet music, tasks: only what your permission group allows.
• Your child's personal data: stays with the child and the choir director.

So the link means: read what the child reads, and respond where the child would respond. Nothing more.

Pending lists

Whether you yourself appear in pending lists and attendance statistics depends on the Exempt from events checkbox, which the choir director sets in your member details. Parents who do not sing should have it set. Your children are in the lists regardless.

Good to know

• In the attendance history the choir director sees when you responded for your child: "changed by Petra Müller".
• The link only applies in choirs where you are both members. In Lina's second choir, which you are not in, you see nothing.
