Start a link

What is this?

A parent link is created by one side starting it and the other side confirming it. Either side can start:

• The child enters the parent's email address in their profile.
• The parent enters the child's email address in their profile.

So Lina (12, own login) can enter Petra, or Petra enters Lina. The result is the same.

How to start the link

1. Open your profile and go to the Parent link section.
2. Choose the direction: under Guardians you enter a parent, under People I manage a child.
3. Enter the person's email address and send the request.
4. The other side confirms via the link in the email or in their own profile under Pending requests.

The link is only active once confirmed. Until then it shows up for you as a pending request.

Requirement: a shared choir

The address you enter must belong to a member who is already in a choir with you. That protects you both: nobody can try out other people's addresses, and nobody gets into a choir through a link.

If your parent is not in the choir yet, ask the choir director to invite them. Ideally with the Exempt from events checkbox ticked if they do not sing.

If it does not work

• "This address does not belong to any member of your choirs": check the spelling, or the person is not in a shared choir with you yet.
• "You are already linked": there is already an active link or a pending request between you.
• "Limit reached": at most 6 children per parent and 6 guardians per child.
• "This person cannot manage anyone": anyone who is linked as a child cannot be a parent. Chains are not possible.
• Request expired: after 14 days without confirmation the request expires. Simply start it again.

Good to know

• Too many failed attempts in a short time and Chorilo blocks you temporarily.
• For children without their own login, like Jonas (9), the choir director links from the member list. No confirmation is needed there.
• The link automatically applies in all choirs where you are both members, including ones you join later.
