Filter members (voice, club function, custom fields)

What is it?

The filter panel of the member list lets you search by attributes. Useful when your choir has many members and you want to see only the board, supporting members, or everyone with a birthday in a given month.

Available filters

• Voice — soprano, alto, tenor, bass or "no voice"
• Club function — e.g. librarian, treasurer, supporting member (all functions from your settings)
• Permission group — member, moderator, administrator or any custom role
• Entry date — date range from/to
• Birthday month — January–December (multiple allowed)
• Custom fields — every custom field defined for your choir

How to filter

1. Open Choirs > Open choir > Members.
2. Click "Filters" at the top. The panel expands.
3. Open the section you want (e.g. "Club function").
4. Pick the values — chips for short lists, a checkbox dropdown for longer ones.
5. The list updates immediately. The counter at the top shows how many filters are active.
6. Use "Reset all" to clear every filter at once.

Filtering custom fields

Each filter type adapts to your field type:

• Select (e.g. "T-shirt size") → multi-select of all options
• Yes/No (e.g. "SEPA mandate signed") → tri-state: Yes / No / Any
• Text → full-text search
• Number → min/max range
• Date → from/to range

Permission

Filters are visible to anyone with View members. Filtering on custom fields requires permission to see sensitive data (View sensitive data (address, phone, email, IBAN)) — otherwise the values aren't sent to the client.

Tips

• Combine filters with search — "Soprano" + name "Smith" shows only Smiths in the soprano section.
• Bulk actions respect filters — sending a message or exporting only affects visible members.
• Filters surface gaps — who has been inactive for months? Who has no voice assigned? Filtering makes the holes visible.
